A comparison and analysis between Malebranche and Descartes would be interesting, though well charted.  Similarly, in depth analysis of the relationship between what knowledge we could get about the world through the mind for Malebranche would necessarily involve Descartes as a point of comparison and perspective, but would provide an opportunity for close reading.  I would be exceedingly interested in studying the relationship between Descartes, Malebranche and Pascal.  I have a sense that Malebranche is something of a Bridge between them, and a study of this relationship would illuminate Malebranche.

As the setting for collective deliberation and mutual rights, politics lay the groundwork for social living. Recognizing the Aristotelian conception of government as a good in itself, Sandel considers politics as the tie that honors man’s social nature by linking one man to the aggregate.
