Voicing My Opinions about My HealthCare Choices

I have no qualms about stating my opinion when it comes to my choices with my health and I can tell you there are many choices and most people are not aware of them.  If they are aware then sometimes skepticism keeps them from trying alternative methods. For intance some would assume that if you suffer from reoccurring headaches then a trip to your family physician would be in order.  I am not disputing that if you have chronic headaches that you should see a doctor, I am saying that which doctor you see might be something to debate.

I wasn’t always an advocate for alternative health care, not until I was exposed to some really savvy chiropractic marketing in my local newspaper.  I was like anyone else, I would see a doctor for typical illnesses.  But when I saw what one local chiropractor was offer to his new patients I thought it might be worth my time to check it out.  I mean it wasn’t going to hurt me to go in and receive an exam and x-rays at a reasonable rate, just to see what would happen.  So from the number listed in the chiropractic ad I called and made my appointment.

It was a very pleasant experience, the staff was kind and very helpful with my abundant questions, the chiropractor was very gentle and it didn’t take more the 25 minutes from start to finish, including me filling out my paperwork.  I was scheduled to come back for my report the next day, but I already knew that I would become their newest patient.  How did I know that you might wonder?  I knew when the doctor told me without any prompting from me, that I suffered from heartburn.  How did he know?  He said he could tell from my exam that I had several areas, called subluxations, in my spine that told him.

Okay, the chiropractic marketing got me in the door, but the knowledgeable doctor and the fact that I know longer suffer from heartburn every night, made me a believer and advocate for chiropractic care.
